RHE-Mediation showcased at 43rd CIESM Congress

October 20, 2024

In a week full of events celebrating scientific breakthroughs and exploring innovative solutions about the protection of the marine ecosystem, climate change challenges and the sustainable management of the marine environment, EYDAP presented the RHE-MEDiation project at the 43rd CIESM Congress, held on October 14th to 18th 2024, in Palermo, Italy, in the framework of the project’s dissemination activities.

The 43rd CIESM Congress, an international scientific event organized by the Mediterranean Science Commission, provided the opportunity to highlight the RHE-Mediation mission and objectives, as well as the innovative technology used for restoring the marine environment from chemical pollution.

The scientific announcement made was entitled "Innovative approaches to mitigate chemical pollution in the Mediterranean Sea: A case study at the Thriasio Wastewater Treatment Plant in the Gulf of Elefsis". Via a presentation and a poster, EYDAP demonstrated the use of photobioreactors in removing undesired chemicals during wastewater treatment and water recovery processes, outlined the overall project methodology and presented the potential for further exploitation of the project’s results.
