RHE-MEDiation Launches an Open Call for Associated Regions to Advance Water Remediation Solutions
31 March 2025

On March 31st, 2025, the RHE-MEDiation project launched an Open Call for Associated Regions, inviting local and regional Authorities from EU Member States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries to participate in an initiative aimed at tackling persistent chemical pollution in coastal seawater and inland semi-confined areas. The call seeks to identify replication sites with similar characteristics to those of the demo sites already involved in the RHE-MEDiation project, allowing for an assessment of the replicability and exploitation potential of the RHE-MEDiation innovative technologies.
The 5 selected replication sites will be provided with a grant financial support scheme and receive up to 100.000€ per site, thus complementing the exploitation and replication activity of the RHE-MEDiation technologies by sharing knowledge to maximise future implementation opportunities. This initiative will enable participating Associated Regions to engage with leading experts in water remediation, access innovative technologies, and contribute to the broader mission of restoring and protecting water resources.
Eligible beneficiaries for this call are local and regional Authorities from Associated Regions located in EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries, related to coastal seawater or inland semi-confined areas affected by persistent chemical pollution (i.e. areas with ecosystems that can benefit from the demonstration activities, with the need to build capacity to implement the innovative solutions to restore freshwater ecosystems). Applicants cannot be based in any of the countries of the RHE-MEDiation Consortium (Italy, Greece, Portugal, Belgium, Turkey). Moreover, Authorities funded under the iMERMAID (ID: 101112824) project’s Open Calls are not eligible.
The single-stage call will be open from March 31st to May 31st, 2025. Local and regional authorities committed to addressing water pollution and advancing sustainable water management are encouraged to apply.
The submission will be done through the F6S platform using the following link: https://www.f6s.com/rhemediation-open-call The templates and guidelines for the OC4ARs documents will be available here: https://rhemediation.eu/open-call.html.
