Third and final Demo Site Successfully Installed in Taranto, Italy

The third and final demonstration site was successfully installed and commissioned in Italy, marking a significant milestone in the project’s journey.

Located along the Galeso River in Taranto, this site featured an advanced bioremediation treatment system based on GREEN DUNE® photobioreactors, specifically designed to remove chemical contaminants from river water.

The system was equipped with a CO₂ injection unit, a nutrient dosing tank, and a centrifuge for the daily collection of microalgae biomass. All components — including the photobioreactors, membrane filters, storage tanks, and a fully equipped control station housed within a container — were transported and assembled directly on site. The result was a fully operational, nature-based solution that contributed to restoring water quality and improving the health of the surrounding ecosystem.

This installation marked the successful completion of the project's pilot infrastructure, meaning that all three demonstration sites are now fully in place.
