RHEMEDIATION Presented at Malta's National Workshop on Marine Sustainability

On 19 May, the RHEMEDIATION project was presented during the national workshop Mind the Gap – Transforming Challenges into Opportunities for Cleaner Mediterranean Waters, organised by Xjenza Malta. The event brought together key national stakeholders involved in addressing marine pollution and promoting sustainable water practices in the Mediterranean region.

The partner BLUEMATER SA introduced RHEMEDIATION’s approach to tackling chemical pollution, focusing on innovative, nature-based solutions. The presentation explored the use of microalgae-based technologies for the removal of emerging contaminants and priority substances, demonstrating the project's contribution to cleaner coastal and marine environments.

The workshop also marked the official launch of Malta’s BlueMissionMed Support Programme, in alignment with Objective 2 of the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters.” The initiative aims to foster stronger collaboration among Mediterranean countries and accelerate the implementation of sustainable water and marine policies.
