CNR-IAS Hosts International Delegations for SCeNiC and GISmart Projects

In November 2025, CNR-IRSA - Istituto di Ricerca sulle Acque - welcomed delegations from the Municipality of Sozopol (Bulgaria), as part of the SCeNiC Project, and from Moldova’s AGCC - Agency for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre, within the GISmart Project, under the RHE-MEDiation Mediterranean Lighthouse framework. During the visits, the delegations explored innovative solutions for marine pollution mitigation and port restoration. Italian researchers showcased a range of eco-technologies, including sediment and water remediation systems, nutrient and contaminant removal using microalgae, floating litter-collection systems, and ecological monitoring methods designed to support biodiversity recovery.

These visits strengthened cross-border collaboration, fostered knowledge exchange, and highlighted the practical application of innovative environmental technologies in sustainable coastal and port management.
