RHE-MEDiation Concludes Third Series of Stakeholder Workshops Across Europe
15 May 2026
RHE-MEDiation has successfully concluded its third and final series of stakeholder workshops, strengthening dialogue and knowledge exchange on innovative solutions for water pollution reduction across Europe. The events were held on 5 May in Greece, 7 May in Türkiye, and 12 May in Italy, bringing together a wide range of stakeholders from the water sector.
The workshops focused on advanced approaches for the removal of PFAS and other micro-pollutants, including metals and pesticides, from freshwater and wastewater systems before they reach marine environments. Participants explored emerging treatment technologies and discussed their potential role in addressing growing environmental and regulatory challenges.
A key highlight of the series was the presentation of the final results from the project’s microalgae-based photobioreactor pilot plant. The outcomes demonstrated the effectiveness of nature-based solutions for advanced water treatment and provided a strong foundation for the wider adoption and future scaling of this innovative technology.
