RHE-MEDiation Concludes with a Successful Final Event at European Maritime Day 2026

23 May 2026

RHE-MEDiation officially concluded its journey with a successful final event held during the European Maritime Day (EMD) 2026, which took place in Limassol, Cyprus, on 21–22 May. The event represented the culmination of three years of collaborative work dedicated to developing innovative and sustainable solutions for environmental remediation in the Mediterranean region.

Bringing together stakeholders, researchers, industry representatives, and policymakers from across Europe, the final event provided an opportunity to present the project's key achievements and reflect on its impact. Particular attention was given to the RHE-MEDiation Policy Brief, which outlines strategic recommendations and highlights pathways for the future exploitation, replication, and scaling-up of the project's results.

Throughout the two-day exhibition, visitors had the opportunity to engage directly with the project through its dedicated stand. A central attraction was the GreenDune photobioreactor, one of the innovative technologies developed and demonstrated within the project.

As the project reaches its conclusion, participation in European Maritime Day 2026 provided a fitting stage to showcase the consortium's achievements and celebrate the successful completion of its objectives. The knowledge generated, technologies demonstrated, and partnerships established throughout the project will continue to support innovation and sustainable environmental management well beyond the project's lifetime.
